昨年泊まってくれたゲストがとってもうれしい投稿をちょっと前にInstagramに投稿してくれたのでそちらをシェア。

彼は以前蔵で働いていたスタッフ ゆなきちの紹介で須坂に来てくれた。
ゆなきちが彼にあった時、「彼はきっと須坂が好きだ」そう思ったらしい笑
すごいぞ、ゆなきち！
最初は1泊の予定が、気づいたら、彼は1週間も須坂に滞在してくれた。
彼が世界を旅して、そしてこの投稿をしてくれた。
お題は『2019年に旅すべきあなたが聞いたこともない世界の町トップ10』
須坂はバックパッカーが今でも愛用する『Lonely Planet』にも載っていない町。
外国人はおろか、日本人の中でも
「須坂？どこそれ？」という人も多いはず。
私は、それでいいと、思っています。
それが決してマイナスの評価ではないはずだから。
それでも、須坂はいい町なのですから。
きっと蔵に泊まるゲストも、最初は須坂になにも期待してきていないはず。
でも、彼はこのブログでこう書いてくれています。
「正直言って、須坂は特に何もすることがない。でも、近くには数多くの美しいスポットがあるんだ。
観光協会で無料の電動自転車が借りられる！」と。笑
隣町高山村の温泉や、小布施の北斎館も紹介してくれている。もちろん、スノーモンキーも。
そう。海外の人は、「須坂」というエリアに縛られることなく、周辺を楽しんでくれているのです。
そして、須坂の米子の大瀑布もイチオシしてくれています！
須坂は町の名前を見てもわかるように「坂」の多い町。
そして、観光地でもないので、ゲストに行ってほしい名所は町の至る所に点在しています。
米子の大瀑布も、すべての自然を愛するゲストに行ってほしい！と思うくらい素晴らしい場所なのですが
なにせ、ここは公共交通機関が通っていない場所。
バスは紅葉のトップシーズンの週末しか走っていないのです。
でもゲストを連れていく度、すごく感動してくれて。
それをずっと観光協会さんにも伝えていたところ、バスを増便するのは無理だけど、ということで
数年前から電動自転車を準備してくれています！市内宿泊者は無料！！
これが本当にヒットして、昨年もたくさんのゲストが電動自転車で米子の大瀑布までたどり着くことができました。
このブログを書いてくれた彼もその一人。
日本中に紅葉のきれいな山や、自然の美しいところはたくさんあります。
でも、須坂のいいところは、だいたい、いつも独り占めできるところ。
多くのゲストは東京や京都・大阪・広島と日本の観光名所を巡ってきています。
どこへ行っても観光客だらけ。
でも、彼らもそんな観光客だらけのところだけではなく、普通の、日常の「日本」を見てみたいはず。
須坂はそんな旅人に、ぴったりの町だと思うのです。
ここを訪れるゲストは、日本人も外国人もあまり須坂のことを知らないで来ている。
それでも、よく「日本の旅のハイライト」なんて言ってくれるのです。
期待してきていない彼らが、実際須坂に泊まったら、「いい町。落ち着く。こんな町に来てみたかった。」
そう感じてくれたら、宿冥利に尽きるってもんです。
でも、彼のこの感動は、やっぱり私たちゲストハウス蔵のメンバーだけでは得られなかったもの。
電動自転車の購入を決めてくれた観光協会、
いつも声をかけたら集まってくれる地元の人たち、
お店を案内すれば、これでもかっ！ってくらいおもてなしをしてくれる飲食店の皆さま、
道に迷っているゲストを宿まで連れてきてくれる町の人々、
普段私の気づかないところでも、きっとゲストはたくさんお世話になっています。
関わる方がそれぞれが、温かくいつもゲストを受け入れてくれるからこそ、
私たち宿スタッフも、安心しきってゲストを町へと送り込むこともできるのです。
これからも、ゲストの心に残る町であるように、
私たち宿スタッフも、より良い宿とするためがんばりたい。
